What it looks like
Preparation & routine » Avoiding injury
How?
“Here are some simple pieces of advice for reducing the risk of injury: – Keep warm, before, during and after the game, especially if you’re subbing on and off – Always wear shin pads and good football boots – Don’t aggravate an injury by playing when you haven’t fully recovered – Get match-fit before the start of the season by running and doing other exercise – Make sure your team has a fully equipped first aid box”
Why?
“Unfortunately, injuries occur often in football as well as in other sports. One of the most common causes of injury in the amateur game is not warming up properly before the start of a match or training session. A proper warm-up prepares the body for exercise, warms the muscles and enables the body to cope better with the strains of knocks and sudden movements that can cause injuries.”
