Hammers under 14s keep there unbeaten run going
Sunday 8th January 2012

West Ham 3-1 Romford Borough
West Ham ladies under 14s got their second half of the season off to a flying start with a good performance gaining them a three nil victory, with the West Ham side depleted with injury and sickness the hammers went into the game with only one defender available so a makeshift defence was put in to the game and to their credit they performed well out of their normal positions coping with any attacks from the Romford girls, it was Sarah Wilson that gave the Hammers the lead and her first league goal of the season after a long layoff from a serious injury that had seen her unable to play since pre-season, with this the West Ham girls took control of the game keeping possession but unable to find the net, it was Besmira Hoxhaj that struck the second for the Hammers with a well taken individual goal.
The second half saw the Hammers again having 90% of possession but their finishing was off target on the day until Kacie Winsor Claydon came on for her second spell in the game and crashed home a great goal, to there credit the Borough girls kept on trying to hit the Hammers on the counter attack eventually it paid off with a shot form out on the right wing that came across the face of the goal with the hammers keeper Daniela Charles diving and stretching to reach the ball that was looking as if it was going wide it hit the post and found the hammers goal, overall a good game of football from both sides and hopefully a chance for the girls to ease their way back into the form they hit before the Christmas break.
